This month, lifepatch organized a DIY noisemaker workshop. We called it Atari Punk Console – Tiger 0.1 Workshop since we will teach how to build a modified circuit called Atari Punk Console (APC). APC itself is a modification from a circuit called Stepped Tone Generator. It uses a single 556 dual timer IC and named named “Atari Punk Console” (APC) by Kaustic Machines crew because its “low-fi” sounds resemble classic Atari console games from the 1980s, with a square wave output similar to the Atari 2600.
There are more information about this workshop in lifepatch’s site. Mainly APC was chosen because it’s easy to build and very appropriate for those who wanted to learn how to build their own electronic music instruments. Thanks for Pic documentations by Syambas Effendi.
