He did a crime by kidnapping many activists during Indonesian reformation in 1998 in which 13 of them remain “missing”. So I made a support to the candidate number two (Dua – in Indonesian), Jokowi.

vo[ID~]null: one night of experimental music – Independent Archive and Resource Center (IARC), Singapore

Friday 19 April 2013, I organized a gig by a collaboration with Independent Archive and Resource Center (IARC) Singapore and Ujikaji Records. It’s started that I wanted to pay a visit to my friends in Singapore, and so I thought it would be nice to gather all them once in one small gig. Mark Wong from Ujikaji hook me up with Johari Jordan Rais from IARC and so we made a small plans together to do the gig at IARC headquarters. My friends from Rumah Budaya Siku Keluang Pekanbaru Sumatra also joining us, Adhari Donora, Ricky Kurniawan (Coki) and Monica Moerghasini that collaborate in a band called Microtron, took the liberty in flying to Singapore to participate in these gig.

After my participation in Carp2Dragon residency in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I drop by to Singapore for a week. My intention was to visit some of my good friends and also doing some activities while I’m there. Actually, after I think it over after the travel, I did quite a lot. There were 4 activities in one week including a lecture, couple of workshops and a performance. My first activities was a talk and a lecture in 2 session for Faculty of Performing Arts, School of Contemporary Music, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. Mark Wong from Ujikaji Records was the one who hook me up for these activities. During my time in Singapore, my friend Adhari Donora (Ade) and Coki joined to accompany me from Sumatra, I was very happy to meet them there.

For DOWNLOAD event, I gave a lecture session in Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMR), Pekanbaru. The lecture session was an introduction to Media Art with some examples of my community and my activities. microtransformer [installation] by lifepatch for geekfest 2012

In April 2012, lifepatch participated in geekfest 2012 that was held in Bandung Indonesia. geekfest is a festival for community that working in technology. The festival is more of a public style festival, where people from various backgrounds came to see the displays of every participating communities. During our participation for this festival we displayed ‘microtransformer’ installation, a simple display of tropical fruit process (from IB:SC project) with a little artistic touch to attract the audiences in general. The responds was quite aggressive. :)

hacktv [installation] @ pameran membajak TV galeri salihara

On August 2011, I participated an exhibition called “Membajak TV” organized by Komunitas Salihara in Jakarta, Indonesia. The exhibition was curated by Krisna Murti, a media artist and art writer from Indonesia. The exhibition brought the issue of “pirate”, in which the selected artists for the exhibition created works based on their own perspective to the issue itself. As Krisna stated in his curatorial, “Television, controlled by political forces and corporate-has been formed and constructing reality, behavioral and cultural identity so that later generations came to interpret it in various ways: to create a range of cultural awareness, question, tease, criticize, to intervene, reflect, and even offer solution. The emergence a new generation of  astists presents a close link between advance media technology with television culture through three main things: technological developments, the relations of political information history on television with the development of video art, and the emergence of video artist under 30 years generation – which is a generation “nurtured” by our television culture. The cultural position in which the video artists acted upon is a contrary to the community groups who interpret television technology solely as consumption, entertainment, or lifestyle.”

closing performance KOR#02 at National Art Gallery Malaysia

The last activities that we did in National Art Gallery Malaysia was a group performance. We did a collaborative performance with experimental audiovisual composition using and create a stage in the National Art Gallery Hall. We’re not the only one who performed, Goh Lee Kwang, Space Gambus Experiment and So Sound were also take turns giving amazing audiovisual performance at that night.

live visual toys at LIP [performance]

An sound performance between MIDIjunkie and Electrocore, and an experimental visual performance by vjnumberone held at Culture Centre France de Yogyakarta (LIP) for a video screening event by Denis Brun. Denis Brun is a video artist from France that displayed all the works he have been creating in the LIP gallery. The performance itself took at the auditorium of LIP in February 2007.
